False beliefs or “wounds” are incurred by accepting negativity as truth.
Left unchallenged, troubling events and harsh comments leave imprints, twisting our world view and diminishing our sense of self.
Wounds manifest in every aspect of our lives. They influence our decisions, identity, happiness and health.

When our skin is cut we dress our wounds then step back while our body heals.
Biological processes take over and we return to our natural state of health. Modern medicine is now able to assist us greatly during that process, we can now heal our physical bodies faster and often without pain.
We people also have internal processes that allow us to heal not only the physical, but also our emotional and energetic bodies. In order for this natural healing process to occur we must first, as with the physical body - dress the wound.
Not unlike the MD’s of today, whose presence and knowledge assist us in the physical healing process, since time immemorial there have been those who are able to assist in the healing of all three bodies.
They have had many names: shamans, djasakid, medicine people, curandeiras, healers and more; for our ancestors they were the norm. They are facilitators for our natural healing processes.
The ones who see the wounds, figuratively “dress them” and assist us in our recovery.
People who just know how to help; who can see, guide, listen, who know when to push.
They are those who go with us when we don’t want to go alone.
Healing the wound removes the fuel source; with nothing to sustain them the correlating manifestations simply fade away.
We People are Self Healing
We People have three bodies:
These bodies are all connected and influence one another.
Beginning with the emotional body, unhealed emotions leak into the energetic and then physical. When emotional wounding is left untreated, it affects our energetic body. Things feel off, life gives us lemons, our natural flow is impeded.
This imbalance ultimately manifests in the physical. Discomfort, disease, accidents. To seek relief from these physical symptoms we will take painkillers, undergo surgery and doing so will often seem to work. However the initial root cause in the emotional body was never healed and therefore will manifest itself again and again in different areas until we choose to seek out the root, address and release it.
Emotional, Energetic & Physical Bodies
Putting the Pieces Together

Imagine a pupil being harshly reprimanded by a teacher. In that moment the student may develop a belief about themselves – a wound to the emotional body. The same reprimand could have a different effect on different students. One could decide “I am bad”, another “teachers want to hurt me”, another could be unaffected and incur no wounds at all. Now that moment has come and gone in our linear perception of time, however our bodies experience everything as now and that wound continues to fester, it bleeds into our energetic body and then our physical. That back pain could be a result of the same wound as that stiff knee and so on. We often also misidentify our wounds with our personalities and develop affinities for them. So we will continue to see that “I am bad” wound, we believe in it and until it has been healed it will continue to reappear as a theme in our lives.
So what can we do with all this wounding?
We can choose to heal it. Simple but true. At Mamidosewin we track,
identify, feel and then release our wounds. Through ceremony and awareness it is not only possible to heal our wounds but also in keeping with natural law.
Our true nature is a healed one. Our wounds are our teachers but only if we can acknowledge and embrace their lessons. It's our choice, to remember our true selves, releasing our mistaken beliefs and reclaiming our destiny - returning to the center, where we all come together.

That's what Mamidosewin is all about.
